The work generally consisted of preventative maintenance and upgrades to several process equipment and piping systems throughout the treatment facility.
Phase 8 items included replacement of four Scum Pumps at the Secondary Clarifiers, an existing FRP Hypochlorite Tank, one strainer cover and motor, 300 LF of 3” & 4” piping for the plant boilers in the Solids Handling Building, two actuators and pedestals for existing 36” gates at the Clearwell, 1,000 LF of spray water piping, supports, and spray nozzles at the Aeration Tank and Mixed Liquor Channel, seven boiler pressure instruments and tubing, modifications to existing steel 2W, 3WLP, and DAF piping at the Backwash Pumps and other locations, demolition of existing fire suppression system, and hazardous material abatement at multiple locations.
Major Phase 9 items included removal and replacement of the existing potable water Air Gap tank, piping, and concrete slab; removal and replacement of a vertical turbine pump; removal and replacement of a boiler level control system; removal and replacement of boiler chemical feed pumps and related tubing; and removal and replacement of fuel dispensing pumps. The work also included new variable frequency drives for the RAS and 1W pumps as well as electrical and instrumentation work in various project areas.
