Hi-Desert Water District, Wastewater Reclamation Facility
Yucca Valley, California
The Hi-Desert Water District Wastewater Reclamation Facility (WRF) was a progressive design-build project that delivered an initial capacity of 1.65 MGD expandable to a 2.6 MGD MBR WWTP. W. M. Lyles Co. was the design-builder and Kennedy Jenks Consultants was the Design Engineer. Preliminary design work began in 2016 with construction starting in January 2018. The Water District had developed a plan to implement a sewer collection system and Water Reclamation Facility in response to the Regional Water Quality Control Board’s resolution prohibiting septic tank discharges in the Town of Yucca Valley. The WRF consists of a greenfield WWTP with influent pump station, equalization basin, MBR structure, blower/pump room, electrical building, maintenance building, operations building, odor control facility, solids holding tank, solids dewatering building, percolation ponds, chemical building, UV facility, stormwater pump station, and effluent pump station.
