Santa Margarita Water District, Advanced Purified Water Treatment Facility
Mission Viejo, California
This fast paced Design-Build project was implemented by Santa Margarita Water District (SMWD) in order to swap the existing feed for Lake Mission Viejo from potable water to Advanced Purified Water. This project will filter recycled water through reverse osmosis (RO) and ultrafiltration (UF) to produce an Advanced Purified Water source that meets the District’s high quality water standards. Upon completion, the District is now able to successfully fill Lake Mission Viejo with Advanced Purified Water while saving approximately 114 million gallons of drinking water per year. This project provided SMWD with a solution to beat California’s water shortage with sustainable resources backed by the experience and performance of W. M. Lyles Co.
